Peter Cox:
Over the past 20 years Peter has
worked extensively in senior management roles within Toyota New Zealand
including Quality, Training, Human Resources and Business Development. He
undertook a number of visits to Japan to study and further develop his
understanding of the Toyota Production System and also worked as a Senior Group
Leader for Toyota UK. He was Production Manager for Electrolux New Zealand,
Arthur Ellis and Dynamic Controls. Peter has extensive experience in
implementing the Toyota Production System into a very wide range of industries.
Having been a Formula One Grand Prix mechanic for Tyrrell Racing Organisation he
also engineers one of the Toyota Racing Series cars in the New Zealand
and has won consecutive Championships in 2006 and 2007.
Martin Bennett:
Since completing a Toolmaking
Apprenticeship with Ferranti Limited in Manchester England, Martin has
absorbed a wealth of knowledge and experience from design through to
manufacture, working in England, South Africa and New Zealand. Martin has worked
in engineering roles with PDL Industries, Firestone and Thorn Lighting and
subsequently held management roles with W T Murray, Patience and Nicholson, Email
Appliances and
Hamilton Jet. Through these experiences he has developed a sound knowledge of Manufacturing
and its
implementation strategies and
has successfully implemented Lean Manufacturing techniques into
a wide range of New Zealand and Australian companies. He has also held a
teaching role at the New Zealand Institute of Management in ISO 9001 and Total
Quality Management.
Dr Venkat Pulakanam Ph D:
Is a Quality and Manufacturing
Management consultant and trainer. Until recently he worked as a Process
Improvement Manager at Macpac Wilderness Equipment Ltd. Now he is back Lecturing
in business studies at Canterbury University and is the Director of their MBA
Programme.
